The Hewitt House (Texas Chainsaw Massacre Movie Location – Granger, Texas)

Who is a fan? Okay, so I met my husband back in 2004 and ever since then I googled about Texas and everything else Texas. And so of course I watched the movie, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. I loved it. At least the one that was released in 2003 starring Jessica Biel. The next ones after that I didn’t care much. I think Jessica had done a great job in the movie. So when I got here in Central Texas, I just found out that the actual house where the movie was filmed is not so far from where we live. And since then I had been asking my husband to go with me to check out the house. It didn’t happen for some reason our plan was always postponed. But today, I finally went with a friend of mine who was more than willing to do the adventure with me. Yay!

The city of Granger is about 40 minutes away from where I live. We didn’t explore the town so I couldn’t say much about it I supposed. But it looks like any other regular small old-town in Texas. About 3-5 minutes from the city center is where you can find the Hewitt Family House that was used in the movie TCM.

Okay, so if you haven’t watched the movie, you might want to watch it now? But I feel like I don’t have to explain any further about the history and everything I just read online because I don’t have the right to do that I believe since I didn’t have any conversation with whoever adept in its history or whoever lived in the house. But there was a flyer that you could pull out from the box right in front of the house gate and below is what it says.

It’s not scary right? Nothing happened there. It was just used in the movie. Period.

So what else did we do because no one is allowed to get close to the house. That’s why there is a gate and a fence. Picture taking. That’s the best that you can do. Take a bunch of photos from outside the fence until you get tired. Hehe

See, nothing spooky. Right? Plus my outfit that is so colorful you will forget there was even a massacre in the movie. I was just having fun taking photos like I usually do.

Check it out for yourself if you happen to be in the area. It’s close to Temple, Holland and George Town. You might find the gas station and the slaughter house that were used in the movie because we didn’t try to find it at all. If you do find it please let me know what you think.
