Houston can be reached within 3 hours drive from our place in Central Texas. The drive can be smooth and easy during the weekend via US-190 E and TX-36 S and US-290 E. Although I had been to and through the city before I had never spent a full day and a night there until this newest trip with my husband.
The main reason why we wanted to stay for a night is because of the famous filipino chicken and burger chain called Jollibee which also serves traditional filipino breakfast. I wanted to eat breakfast there and I wouldn’t be able to do that without leaving from home as early as 6 am and we wouldn’t want to do that. You must be wondering how good the food is for us to really spend a night there. Okay, I will describe it according to my husband’s point of view when he tasted the famous chicken joy lastnight. He said it tasted like the chicken in a convenience store but crispy on the outside and so soft inside. So did he like it? Yes he liked it. And did I like my breakfast? Yes, I did. Always have and probably always will. Okay, so you might want to try it, go ahead, it’s not gonna hurt to try, right? There are plenty of other food choices aside from its famous chicken and burger.
Okay, for filipinos outside of the Philippines, jollibee is always a taste of home. So you wouldn’t be surprised to find that the place is always packed probably any time of the day. We went in the evening and the morning and both times were packed with almost all filipino americans with their families. So tip: if you want to eat plenty from the menu or order for a take home, order it all at once so you don’t have to fall in line again to pay at the register because the wait could take time.
The area where jollibee is has plenty of hotels if you want to spend the night just like us.
We stayed at the Wyndham Hotel which is a walking distance from The Texas A&M science center where I took some more pics for you.
Okay so before we proceed to another area which Houston is famous of, the NASA, I’ve got to show you something. As a fashion/travel blogger, I always wanted to see fabulous colorful graffitis and wall art especially in big cities like Houston. I have checked a few bloggers from Houston and their photos taken in front of those amazing background walls. Although I wished I had found and seen more I was happy I saw one, just right across the street from Jollibee, in the main street.
After breakfast and a few pictures, we headed to NASA.
Perfect time to go there today, not crowded at all. You pay $5 for the parking and $29.95 for the fee to see everything inside.
That sums up our trip in Houston today. Short and sweet. And I hope you enjoyed. Thank you for checking my blog and I will see you on the next one.
